What is Wei

Wei is the name given to the smallest unit of the cryptocurrency Ether, outlined in the technical papers of Ethereum. It is equivalent to 10^-18 of Ether. When conducting transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, transaction fees are incurred. If transaction fees are very small, Wei could be used as the unit. Wei can also be used to set the gas limits.
