What is Verification code

A verification code is sent to verify the identity of a user by an entity. It could be, for instance, a message containing some digits sent to a user’s phone number to verify an online purchase. Another example is a message sent to a user when logging in from a new device. Verification codes protect users by adding an extra layer of security.
