The social network Facebook has been interested in the field of cryptocurrencies for a while now.
The company is launching Novi, a crypto wallet that can store NFTs. In addition, the social network has been developing its own digital currency, Diem. Facebook’s intention is to have the coin pegged to the US dollar.
“We’re definitely looking at a number of ways to get involved in the space because we think we’re in a really good position to do so. When you have a good crypto wallet, like Novi will be, you also have to think about how to help consumers support NFTs,” commented Diem board member David Marcus on Bloomberg Television.
Facebook has still not announced what products and functions will be associated with NFT.
We wonder what Vitalik Buterin has to say about Facebook’s recent intentions. He had not long ago invalidated Twitter and Facebook’s plans to embed cryptocurrency within their platforms.
