What is Maximum supply

Maximum supply of a token is the ceiling of all tokens that can ever be generated. When the maximum supply is reached, no more tokens can be mined; only the circulation of the already mined tokens can occur. This has an implication on the inflation. Once maximum supply is reached, the inflation rate should become zero.

Maximum supply is not to be confused with total supply. Total supply refers to the tokens already generated; net of the tokens burned.
