What is Ledger

A ledger is a log or registry that stores the history of the transactions that have occurred and the balances of its users.

 

Blockchain technology is a distributed ledger technology. A blockchain network allows all its users to view all transactions and verify them.

 

Blockchains are immutable. This means once transactions are recorded, they cannot be undone, making the network secure.

 

There are numerous applications for blockchain and distributed ledger technology that extend beyond cryptocurrency.
