What is Issuance
Issuance in cryptocurrency is the creation of new tokens. The total supply of tokens to be issued is usually decided upon by the project launchers and is specified in the smart contract that governs the process. The consensus mechanism could be different for various cryptocurrencies, such as Proof-of-Work (PoW) or Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and should be also indicated in the project’s whitepaper.
