What is ERC-721

ERC-721 is the protocol or technical standard for Ethereum-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs). NFTs are unique tokens that stand for physical or digital assets, for example collectable art, or real estate. By purchasing an NFT of an asset, an individual is buying its ownership rights. ERC-721 specifies the rules that must be followed to create a smart contract that govern NFT creation.
